About this event
CPR for Family and Friends
July 25, 9:00am-11:30am
CPR for Family and Friends is a class for people who want to learn (or refresh) life-saving skills: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (hands-on only, no mouth-to-mouth) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Instruction will include using CPR and an AED on adults and on children -
invaluable for grandparents!
This training is provided by the South Orange Rescue Squad, an organization of volunteers who have responded to medical emergencies in this area since 1971.
Your pre-paid registration fee will be donated to the Rescue Squad.
Registration opens July 4
Parking
There are free public parking spaces
on the first two floors of the 300 E. Main Parking Deck,
and in the Municipal Lot at Roberson & East Main Streets.
Do not park at Carr Mill, Weaver Street
Market, Harris Teeter or CVS!
Notes:
- Part of the class will involve practicing compressions with a manikin placed on the floor (or on a table) so wearing comfortable clothing is advised.
-
The class will be held on the second floor of the Rescue Squad building and there is no elevator, so anyone who wants to attend must be able to climb the staircase to the second floor.
- All attendees will receive an American Heart Association student workbook.
